In this video, I discussed in detail what is causing the stutters and crashes in the game. VRAM isn't the only culprit here. RAM and CPU also have their fair share in this game's poor performance. I used a couple of videos and reviews as a reference to make you understand my point. Also, I used multiple scenes from the game to give you a better overall idea of the performance. Its no longer Crash of Us like it was before but still long way to go for the developers to improve.
