The Lost Raisins Collection - Lumumba's Tears Fall from My Eyes (Tribute Bump)
PLEASE READ BELOW
This is the most emotional sampled beat I've ever made. It's relatively short and simple but it has a very deep meaning in my heart. I'm paying homage to my hero and my country's national hero, Prime Minister Patrice Lumumba. Being from the Democratic Republic of Congo, I've recently researched on the history of where I'm from and as a result have forged an even stronger connection with my native soil. It pains me to know how Congo has suffered oppresion, bloodshed, exploitation and war for over 400 years, but it pains me even more when some of my Congolese colleagues of my generation fail to realize how significant our history means in our lives and where we are as a people and as a nation today. I pray and envision a brighter future in DRC and thus I wanted to share this piece, including an excerpt of Lumumba's independence speech in 1960. Please enjoy and I hope this sparks interest in learning about where I'm from as well as give you some insight about me. Thank you and enjoy.
