Gaming is similar to reading books and watching movies like this; we are just simply interacting within the realms of fantasy, stepping into the protagonist's shoes, instead of just reading about it or watching it unfold on screen unable to interact with the characters. It gives us a different [perhaps more realized 3D] perspective, books, movies and games don't give us or don't give more of. They can also be adapted [well] from one another, like from books to movies or TV series - though, best not from video games. Visual, auditory, imagination.
