The Mandalorian - s3e1 - 'The Apostate' - FlashReview - SPOILERS
9SPOILERS AHOY!
Season 3 of The Mandalorian explodes onto Disney+ with it's first episode, 'The Apostate', a word which has the opposite meaning of what the episode was actually about. (sigh)
Din Djarin swoops in and save The Armourer and a bunch of Children of the Watch (I thought there was only 3 left, inlcuding Mando, I guess she and Vizla have been busy recruiting) from a giant space crocodile. He is reminded that, as he has removed his helmet, he is no longer Mandalorian and must atone by descending into the waters beneath the cities of Mandalore. Mando heads out with Grogu to Nevarro, tries to repair IG11 and fails, then he fights pirates both on the ground and in space (with a weird Davey Jones/Swamp thing-esque Pirate King) before finding a depressed Bo-Katan (still looking well for her age) sitting by herself after her followers abandoned her when Mando won the Dark Sabre. I guess next up will be a trip to Mandalore, but you never know with Favreau and Filoni. I am sure there will be a side mission before the story progresses.
Still, this was fun with good action and effects, but I admit that I am tiring of Grogu's lack of development. Just grow up, you little green [bleep]!
