So, that's it for The MISSING! It gave me a big string of emotions so this ending paragraph will be long.

Missing was such an up and down game for me, but in the end I loved every moment of it. The controls were very janky at times and making Emily and picking up things be mapped to E was probably the biggest annoyance for me playing through other than the Diner area that made me feel super stupid, but that's more on me, not the game. I tend to not like platformers but the story and characters of the missing help a lot with how it kept me going cause I wanted to figure out more.

I also said it in my commentary at the end but there's hardly really any trans focused games that either
a.) Aren't purely about how being trans is suffering
or
b.) includes trans representation in a game with a pronoun button without really anything else that is brought up in the game at all.

I know The MISSING technically also falls under the a.) criteria but the game itself set it up very well with the storytelling by keeping the surprise a secret. However, I'm trans so I pretty much picked up immediately that J.J. is Trans due to relation and such. Also lemme just say J.J. is a queen and I wish her all her best in her transition. The ending was VERY well done and I kinda just wanted to cry a bit but a lot of the bits I felt overwhelmed were during chase scenes so.. yknow.. don't really have the time to sit and cry.

So yeah! despite the clunky controls that were frustrating to deal with, I'm very glad I played this game :) It was a kind of cathartic thing to see at the end with the whole accepting pain thing, and I know ill be doing some donut hunting while observing all the areas with newfound knowledge on what each area means to J.J.
