The Oddity that were Pokémon DVs (Determinant Values)
Determinant Values (or DVs) were what eventually became modern day IVs (Individual Values).
Similar to IVs, DVs affect a Pokémon’s stats and Hidden Power typing.
But did you know DVs affect more than just that?
DVs, only used in Generations 1 and 2 of Pokémon, affect far more than IVs.
Did you know that the way DVs are programmed male Pokémon are, in general, better than female Pokémon?
Or how it is impossible to get a female shiny starter in Gold, Silver, and Crystal?
Let’s learn more about this outdated mechanic in Pokémon… that no one cares about anymore… in a sequel to a video that heavily underperformed.
I hope you all enjoy the video!
