The Open Systems Interconnection model, or OSI Model, is a conceptual model that describes the different layers of a networking or telecommunication system. Rather than focusing on the underlying technology in each layer, the OSI Model separates the flow of data into seven abstraction layers to help give a visual description of how data flows in a networking system.
