Yes, I know what you're thinking; what's the point of comparing these two cars? Nobody. But with this video, I want to leave you with a reflection. Many extraordinary Ferraris were present at the last edition of the Goodwood Festival of Speed, including the magnificent and multi-winning 1964 250 LM (S/N 5907). Since its debut in the race with Graham Hill/Joakim Bonnier, which obtained the victory at the 12h Reims of the same year, it has received many victories and excellent results both in the historical period in which it raced and in the most recent competitions for historic cars. It remains a milestone in Ferrari production as Maranello's first Berlinetta GT with a mid-engine. The modern Ferrari 296 GTB is inspired, in its shape, by many distinctive features of the 250 LM, such as the large air intake on the sides to cool the engine. Also, the rear design of the modern car is a tribute to the historical one. With the "Assetto Fiorano" package, the 296 GTB can have a livery that reflects its illustrious ancestor in a modern key. But seeing them both in the same event, I can't help but make a comparison. I agree that there's an abyss in technology; the 296 GTB has incredible performance with a turbocharged engine of only six cylinders. But let me tell you that you don't live on numbers alone and the sound of the glorious naturally aspirated V12 of the 250 LM is so full-bodied and impetuous that it almost overshadows the modern 296GTB. Not to mention the charm and elegance of a car already 50 years old. I think it's always good to remember and pay homage to the past, but sometimes this past can be so beautiful and essential that it overwhelms the present.
I have to thank my friend and Youtubers @19Bozzy92, @MattyB727 & @NM2255, with whom I collaborated to realise this video. Enjoy! 😉

Si, lo so a cosa state pensando, che senso ha paragonare queste due auto? Nessuno.
Buona visione! 😉
