The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim is an open world action role-playing video game developed by Bethesda Game Studios and published by Bethesda Softworks. It is the fifth main installment in The Elder Scrolls series and was released worldwide on November 11, 2011. The game's main story revolves around the player character and their quest to defeat Alduin the World-Eater, a dragon who is prophesied to destroy the world. The videogame is set two hundred years after the events of Oblivion, and takes place in the fictional province of Skyrim.
There's no denying I am the biggest fan of Argonians here on the channel. They've been one of my favorite races ever since I played Elder Scrolls IV: Oblivion in 2006. Since Skyrim came out, The Elder Scrolls Online has only expanded their lore even more. This video uncovers one of the questions Elder Scrolls fans have always wanted to know about our scaly lizard-folk friends: what was their civilization like before the modern eras? Ancient Argonian society has always been a mystery, and before Elder Scrolls Online shed new information on the topic, I had assumed it would be even more tribal and less advanced than it is in the modern day. Depending on your philosophical stance on the matter, this is not necessarily the case. In fact, it seems, like many ancient societies on Tamriel, the Argonians were once quite advanced. Since ancient times, a period known as Duskfall has occurred. It sounds a bit like a copyright trademark that could be used as a title for the Elder Scrolls 6, but what Duskfall actually is, is the gradual decline of ancient Argonian society. This decline is seen largely as a positive by modern Argonians, and I'll explain why this is in the video. Perhaps the Hist actually have something to do with it? You better believe we'll talk about Hist Tree theories in this video too!
