In the Vienna Gambit, white delays the development of the f3 knight in order to free up the f-pawn and have the possibility of launching a quick kingside attack. Similarily to the King's Gambit, white offers a pawn, but, since black already has a knight on f6, the Vienna Gambit cannot be accepted!
