EXCERPT FROM A's STORY:

It seemed like the night had come early. That the sun had disappeared before its time. The darkness inside of Nayo’s house seemed unnatural. All that was shadow in his home felt oppressive. Before he fell asleep, Nayo thought that these feelings were simply a classic case of nyctophobia. But even in his sleep, he felt as though his mind and soul were being enveloped in shadow, covering him like a black veil. Then, he felt like the darkness, or possibly something inside of it was reaching for him, trying to pull him in deeper. In that moment, the darkness woke him. He was petrified as he gazed into a deep flood of blackness. It seemed deadly and intentionally created, almost as if it was being used as a weapon. Nayo was filled with a feeling that he was being watched as he reached for his phone. After taking it from his night stand, he promptly turned on its flashlight. Make no mistake, the flashlight on his phone was as bright as any ordinary flashlight. Normally, it could reveal most of Nayo’s bedroom. But now, the light didn’t penetrate the darkness deeply enough to illuminate his bedroom door. In fact, it scarcely revealed the end of Nayo’s bed before the light was quenched by shadow. He wanted to call out into the shadow and ask who was watching him through the darkness. But fear strangled his words before they reached his voice. He was suddenly startled when the light on his phone turned off autonomously. He crawled back against his headboard in fear as he felt the evil presence growing and drawing closer to him. He got the impression that whatever it was, it was very angry with him. As the shadows closed in, he could hear a shrieking sound that was growing louder and louder. In that moment, fear overtook him and he lost consciousness.
