The Wild at Heart Gameplay 2
Damn this games, it taking the worst out of me.
This game tries to do more than it needed to.
This is a puzzle story driven and in the side tries to implement some roguelike ideas. While failing to implement the combat, this losses his identity.
The puzzle and story will keep you hook, but many other features will annoy you to almost quit it.
They should have stop in just the puzzle story driven.
For start gameplay is slow, applying that to combat, and you guess it, little messy. You cant throw or use the action(vacuum, light beam) while moving, this turn tedious if you try to take advantage in some combat. The throw guide will reset his position for whatever reason, so you are going to have to move the mouse to make sure is going to throw at the same place you want. Also you are gonna have to spawn the bottom for as much as you need to throw, there is no all option for type.
There is not controlling your creatures option only a spilt and you are going to wish you don't get close to the wrong ones.
The eggs for each type grind is TOTALLY unnecessary, they should just unlock a cap and keep-it there when the threshold on eggs have been reached(find 50 eggs you get 50 minions doesn't matter if they die- you will only need to respawns it). but nooooo, if you losse 1 go and waste your time getting and egg for the one you lost.
The inventory cap there is no point, is just a mechanic to make you backtrack the area more and more, or just leave them, because so far there is no need for any of the item and they even should be in game(maybe only a food type to regain health) or at least there is no point till where i have left it.
Craft? for what?¿??¿ not well implemented, they don't give a purpose, just go and mix stuff, really???'.
Day duration should be doubled, because is just another mechanic to make you backtrack more.
This is a good example of more features doesn't mean better.
But what did they land right, story, level layout, art style, music.
the story so far is pretty decent(haven't finish it), level structure is good, unlock stuff keep exploring done right, art style really stands out soo beautiful to look at, music i love it does stand out since the start of the game really well done.
And is sad that the best of the game is being train wrecked from this annoyances, that the meticulously add for no reason.
