Runner's comment:
Dialogue and questions are displayed on the wrong layer and can't be seen. After I failed a few times, I opted to toggle the visibility of graphics layers 1 and 2 during questions to waste less time so we could move on and get to enjoying the various songs this game has to offer.
At the end there's a clip for when a city is incomplete.
For some reason, sounds that had an echo or held note in the original game now loop indefinitely until another prompt on that sound layer replaces it. "Mario's Early Years! Fun with Letters" might be the worst sounding in ZSNES 0.15 for all the crunchy off tune familiar songs, but this might be worst for me with all the held notes. Ouch.
