"Missile inbound!" The warning blared, and the Valiant's countermeasures deployed. Chaff and flares filled the air, confusing the incoming missiles' sensors. Most veered off course, but one slipped through, striking the Valiant's stern.
Damage reports flooded in, but the destroyer was still battle-worthy. Captain Harris knew they couldn't withstand another hit like that. "All batteries, focus on the frigate. Take it down!"
The Valiant's guns roared again, a relentless torrent of fire that the frigate couldn't evade. Explosions ripped through its hull, and within minutes, it was adrift, consumed by fire.
With the frigate incapacitated, the Valiant turned its full attention to the crippled cruiser. It was a sitting duck, and the destroyer showed no mercy. A final barrage sealed the cruiser's fate, sending it to the depths of the ocean.
As silence fell, the crew of the Valiant breathed a collective sigh of relief. They had won the battle, but at a cost. The destroyer limped home, its flag flying high, a testament to the bravery and skill of its crew.
Captain Harris gazed at the stars, reflecting on the lives lost and the sacrifices made. The victory was theirs, but the war was far from over.
