4I’m equal parts curious and terrified to stream Class of ’09 tonight — this “anti-visual novel” looks like it’s going to tear up my high school nostalgia and leave me questioning if what I’m doing is even allowed on YouTube. In Class of ’09, you play as Nicole, a chaotic teenage girl attending American high school in the late 2000s (2007–2009). But this isn’t your typical dating sim — it’s more like a rejection simulator where you instigate drama, reject suitors, stir the pot, and watch consequences unravel.
With 15 different endings, dozens of characters to mess with, real-time clothing changes, unlockable lore scenes, and biting social satire, there’s so much to see — but also so many “what did I just do” moments waiting to happen. I’ll be exploring multiple routes (what I can) live, reacting to the most wild and questionable decisions, and probably asking out loud, “Is this allowed on YouTube??” on more than one occasion. (Spoiler: I might test that myself.)
The game proudly calls itself an anti-visual novel — instead of the usual “chase romance” tropes, you cause chaos in the lives of your potential suitors. The cast is full of messed-up characters, including bullies, manipulative types, and morally questionable routes.
So yes — I’m ready to jump into high school absurdity, cringe moments, and probably regret some choices… but I have to see how far this game goes. Let’s dive in.

I use a Logitech - C922 Pro Stream Webcam. Kinda annoying you have to reset the settings each and every time you open a recording software, but the quality is great!

I am currently using a Blue Yeti combined with Audacity. I use these settings before exporting my audio: • Best Settings for Blue Snowball Microphone...
(Still works great for a Yeti despite being a vid for the Snowball).
