I've never heard anyone mention the audio mixing capabilities of the Model 1 Sega CD but it's a "feature" that I always enjoyed tinkering with as a kid. And now I can tinker again!

With the proper setup you can use the volume slider on the Genesis to crossfade some of the real-time audio on the startup screen and even in some games!
