With this one finished, we are good to go with continuing the series proper lol. While I didn't do much for the fun zooms and shite, I still liked the greater level of editorial control I can have recording like this, which makes sense! When I first started recording on PC, I did the double-wide treatment: 3840 by 1080, camera on one half with game on the other, capable of doing fancy shit with the different video tracks, etc. So, it feels a bit like the old days! Just like the old days, tho, Resolve is a fickle bitch to me lol. I have a massive problem with how Resolve chooses to pick and display video track thumbnail images—every time it loads a thumbnail for the video tracks, my CPU usage spikes _hard_. I found a setting to inhibit most instances of that happening, but there's still the clip thumbnails Resolve loads on the Render page itself, and I cannot find a setting to get it to fucking stop loading the thumbnails. Like, I DO NOT NEED TO SEE A FUCKING STILL OF EVERY CLIP!!! I don't need a still for ANY clip! I can fucking click around to see what's up. Really wish I could disable that bar because it, alone, let to this video failing to render twice, and it's not even that fucking long or complicated. Anyway, I circumvented the issue by getting all of the thumbnails to load before rendering so that the computer didn't have to do both processes simultaneously. Such a weird fucking thing to be an issue fr. These types of things also stop me from using as many effects because of the strain rendering itself does to the computer (especially all transition and clip effects—even a fucking Cross Divide can spike the CPU), and not being able to have those effects in a vid primarily because the app itself spikes CPU usage to load an unnecessary still image is so fucked.
I live stream on Twitch at / aqueouserbium and archive those streams on YouTube at / @aqervod ! The P2 videos are recorded offline, primarily because the game is dubious on PC but runs fine on PS3–5.
