This Vlog Was Edited in DaVinci Resolve • 8.7.2023
0Here's my thoughts after editing this vlog:
DaVinci Resolve was interesting to use. The learning curve to at least use the basics wasn't that bad, but that might be because I know how to use other editing programs. I tried my hand at colour correcting for the very last bit of this vlog (starting at around the 4:53 mark). It's apparent that I could easily spend a lot of time fine tuning the colour correction. I'm sure I won't be satisfied if I were to rewatch this later down the line and wish I could change things, but I'll settle for what was done in this video. I don't have the experience to colour correct accurately, but I see this as taking my first step if I want to continue with that down the line. And finally, this is the first vlog I exported in H.265. I used the basic settings for it that Resolve had, but I wanted to give it a try. Turns out my computer can't play back H.265 footage unless I put it into an editing program! When I upgrade my setup then future vlogs down the line will probably be exported with that over the H.264 format that I've been using since switching to Premiere. This was a fun learning experience and maybe in the future I'll use DaVinci Resolve more! Maybe one day, I'll even edit some Let's Plays on it!
