Despite now being a standalone download, Total Chaos released as a total conversion mod for Doom2 using GZDoom. It was created over a long timespan of 10+ years by Wadaholic. Director's Cut for Total Chaos is the ultimate way to play, it adds new chapters, enemies, weapons and systems like armor.

Total Chaos turns Doom into a survival horror game, taking cues from STALKER and Silent Hill. You get stranded in a mining colony located in an island where something went really, really wrong. While repairing the boat, you seem to catch a transmission in your radio, presumably coming from the island... Despite also having firearms, Total Chaos focuses more in melee combat, inventory management, and crafting your own tools and weapons with the goods you find during your journey.
