Touhou 16 just release today, so lets give the demo go.
I noticed that using bomb or die on midboss and spellcard/non spellcard will remove spell fragment or downgrade the reward (Life piece will become Spell piece and Spell piece will become Spell fragment). Getting hit will set your spell to 3 and remove any spell stock if you have more than 3.
There's 4 types shoot that you can choose, Spring, Summer, Fall, Winter, each type have different mini shoot and different mini bomb(?). Also to gain additional max points, you have to cancel the bullet by releasing the stacks. Note : Release Spring stack will immediately failed spell capture.
