Touhou 6 The Embodiment of Scarlet Devil Lunatic 1cc (Marisa A)
2Originally want to do an LNB of something to celebrate my 10 years of Touhou fandom, but ran out of time to practice.
Instead, I realized I hadn't actually cleared any of the Marisa shots in eosd on lunatic, so I did that.
I've forgotten a ton of stuff about this game but somehow pulled out the naked clear by Just Dodging (tm) and also bombing a lot.
Lots of really fond memories with this game:
I hunkered down in the dorms during university orientation trying to beat Normal instead of socializing like I should have
I remember being stuck on Meiling's Wind Chime for a long time (seems like a lot of new players that start with EoSD get stuck here as their first major challenge)
I remember the Normal tutorial videos I watched on YouTube to learn the routes. I still do a lot of what they recommend nowadays out of habit, like bombing the beginning of stage 2 (I didn't do it here though). I can't find those tutorials anymore.
thprac didn't exist and I didn't know how to use the tools of the time like SpoilerAL, so I just had to throw myself at the wall of full runs enough times to unlock stage practice. Stage 5 felt like such a faraway existence back then.
Sometimes when I'm listening to the stage 3 theme now, I tear up when it reaches the climax (at the midboss spell). I guess that's the nostalgic staying power of Touhou.
