359New Touhou fangame is up! So is the clear of it - this time a quick No Miss No Bomb of it. (Hypers not included. But, maybe someday I will get also No Hypers clear?)
All I gotta say is that Blue Devil in the Belvedere is simply awesome. Worth the money for sure.

[ Overview ]
东方栖霞园 ~ Blue devil in the Belvedere is a fresh new Touhou fangame, released on 21 May, 2021. Made by team responsible for Elegant Impermanence of Sakura. For this game, quality gets even better than before, which is truly incredible.
As usual, it contains usual 6 stages-long main game along with Extra stage. Play as Reimu, Marisa or Sakuya, to resolve the incident! Who's behind it this time?

[ Bloodgems ]
The game features Bloodgems - the gems which powers you up, and are crucial for the special mechanism of the game. They have special meaning in scoring especially, but can be helpful in survival too.
Gems will drop from enemies with red aura, from bosses at the end of their attacks, and by filling Power Rank bar. It will raise over time as you hit enemies, graze and collect items. For each Bloodgem filled, you will gain Power Rank, up to level 3.
Enemies with red aura spawn bloodgem fragments. Depending on your current Power Rank, whether it's Rank 0/1, 2 or 3, they are worth 1/6, 1/3 or 1/2 respectively. Some of them have fixed value for gem spawned, regardless of your Power Rank.
Collecting bloodgem fragments triggers items auto-collect. Any point items are then worth PiV * chain multiplier. Collecting items from PoC though will not take the multiplier into account, so it's wiser to seek for gems.
[ Power Overwhelming ]
Once you have all four gems filled, bombs are replaced with a special mechanism - "Power Overwhelming", or as I like to call it, Hyper. During this mode, you gain a lot of firepower, but beware, as enemies get stronger as well! For the bosses, there are also special versions of their attacks. Some are ridiculous when it is activated.
During Hyper you fill up the 5th gem slot, up to 6 fragments. Once it ends, you will be granted that amount of 1/2 bloodgem fragments, to restore the power level.
Additionally, any items shall be auto-collected, and their value will double.
You can take two hits before hyper breaks (or three if you are playing Reimu). It's kind of Reisen's shield, with some risk added. If you break it though, you won't be rewarded by any accumulated fragments, and any gems currently on the field will break as well.
[ Hyper mode and scoring ]
Apart from auto-collecting items and doubling their value, capturing spellcard while in Power Overwhelming mode grants double the score, and gives additional 50m score bonus at the end of the stage.
Entering Hyper mode, as well as leaving it, clears the whole screen. While it is helpful in scoring, because you clear bullets, it might be not so helpful in spellcards. Activating it during spellcards fails them - the same goes for ending it before you capture one.
Thus, managing them for bosses is even more crucial to proper scoring than managing them in stages. The last thing you want to do is to activate it right as the spell starts.

[ My thoughts? ]
Not gonna lie, as the demo enrolled, I was already hyped for the game. Maybe it wasn't perfect graphics-wise at first, like gems appearance, visual separation of Power Rank from them, or some minor nuances. But now - it's simply gorgeous. Superb graphics, fun patterns, and really great music to listen to. Definitely worth the price.
Well, Blue Devil in the Belvedere lands onto my top 5 fangames now.
