Trails in the Sky (Hard): part 19
0I switched to Normal about a quarter of the way through this segment, which is the original difficulty as I understand. I've become frustrated with Hard's balancing when often the game forces you back to a two-member party and expects you to beat a miniboss with multiple ads. Some of these situations were tolerable, but I have no idea how you're supposed to approach the unavoidable Wolf extermination "side quest" with only Estelle and Joshua. Then when I tried to leave the south exit of Zeiss to farm up CP and make another attempt, Joshua prevents entry to that path and condescendingly tells Estelle she has to go east. Perhaps you still have access to the underground area from Ruan for some grinding, or you can load a previous save and go back in the story, but by this time, I had no more patience for Hard.
If anyone finds themselves in a similar situation, you can edit the save file in a hex editor to change the difficulty: address 0x2a6bd is the relevant byte, 00 for Normal, 01 for Hard, 02 for Nightmare.
