Treasure Hunters Session 59: Beyond Cruel
0In last session everything started to settle down Iskan became pale and several individuals noticed that he had begun bleeding from the eyes. Shortly after he fainted. Theo wasn’t looking all too well either. They were taken to one of the palace’s guestrooms a few doors down the hall. Prim checked on them and hypothesized that their new abilities must took a toll on the body and which would explain their exhausted state. Soon after Tilda received a sending from Alexandria telling her that she and others have teleported onto the battlefield. Tilda messaged back that they needed her at the palace as soon as possible.
Than in dragon form landed in the palace with Alexandria, Angelo, Bryn, Skull, and Anais. Zaitari and Bryn began catching up when Alexandria after a minute interrupted notifying her that she needed to find the others. The bard scolded the pair for using their abilities too frequently. Iskan had asked what the cultists were after and Raine revealed a blue purple crystal ball from cult leader’s bag. Alexandria asked to see it. It was the sphere part of the Dragon Sphere, an item that allowed you to locate any metallic dragon you wish.
A few hours later Tilda, Queen Victoria, and Princess Alyssa met. The queen was supportive of Tilda and Theo’s relationship telling the young noble that she likes happy endings to love stories. She gave the couple her blessing. The queen and princess had a discussion, Queen Victoria was planning on abdicating her throne to her daughter in a few years and they wanted Tilda to consider the position of Royal Arcane Advisor based of her experience on being within noble and common society as well as befriending those of the lower caste. The plan was to integrate common folk into higher positions of government this would give the nobility less political power overall.
Raine received a visitor. Spymaster Thanic’s spies had found a wooden box which contained things that belonged Iskan and Vadania. The spymaster was a guard at the Traver Estate where Raine’s mother worked. The pair were friends until Iskan Traver became close with the half elf servant. The two had arguments about the relationship, this led to a falling out between the two of them, and Thanic leaving the estate to join the city guard. He was made aware of her death and attempted to try to investigate, but his superior forbade it. A nobleman was blocking the investigation. He questioned his superior, the second in command was able to save Thanic from being fired, by transferring him to do work in another country. Ever since Thanic has had a disdain about nobility and the corruption that were susceptible to. The queen saw this as he made his way through the ranks of the Royal Eyes and made him Spymaster. Raine and he had a back and forth about power and the waste of innocent lives in the rebellion. She also let it slip that Iskan Traver was still alive. Thanic quelled his anger telling the rogue that it was her decision to do what she wanted. The spymaster mentioned that if she ever was tired of the guild that there would be a job for her in the Royal Eyes, she was good at what she did but her technique could use work.
Zaitari sought out Thanic and found him working in one of the many palace studies. She asked him if she could locate her caravan. Later one she asked if he knew how to dissolve a marriage without one of the party knowing. Thanic said normally lawyers dealt with that and would give her a list of reputable ones that dealt in marital issues.
Tilda went to visit Zaitari and found her with Bryn. There was a serious conversation about friendship and the position she was offered. Raine went to visit Iskan to give him the box to look through. He mentioned to him he might want to consider coming forward about his noble blood and using the connection to help people.
Later the queen invited the group for dinner. It was a more casual dinner. The queen told them that she was going to bestow the group with the Leona Medal of Valor, the country’s highest honor as well as have a keep built for them which would be between Loyalar and Gellantara lands which would have access to a river that went into the Sea of Gadarn. Angela was there attempted to flirt with everyone at the table except of the queen and princess. Later one Zaitari, Teagan, and Angela retired for the night. Melanie and Raine went for a drink. Tilda and Theo went to the Gellantara estate. Mai Tei and Isadora went for a midnight jam session.
