https://www.facebook.com/TrevithickDay - Trevithick Day is an annual day of celebration for the town of Camborne
https://www.facebook.com/trevithick.society - The Steam Parade... the spectacular parade of full sized steam engines can be watched as they go through Camborne’s main streets in the late afternoon.
Trevithick Day is dedicated to Richard Trevithick (1771-1833), pioneer of high pressure steam, inventor and engineer. Camborne was at the heart of the development of mining technology during the boom of copper, and Trevithick headed a team that invented, built, and ran, the first full sized mobile steam engine through Camborne’s streets - ‘ the road locomotive’ (801). A replica of this engine can be seen on Trevithick Day.
