Probably a little preview for something I might tackle in the coming weeks. Trials of Mana is a damn fine remake that is a bit on the easy side if you're playing with a full party and making use of a good party composition, efficient character builds etc. That's why a solo no damage run sounds like a nice idea to amp up the difficulty, though I'll have to make up my mind about the specifics. At least for now, it seems to be a shame to focus on one character alone.

Golden Knight is a new boss in the remake's post-game and quite fun with his various moves and fair design. The fight is a one-on-one by default, making it an enticing choice for me to showcase what to maybe expect from a potential run.

I could go into much detail about the skill setup I used for Duran and his Edelfrei class and how to evade and counter certain attacks, but I think I'll leave that for when (if) a full run actually happens. I'll just say that even though Trials of Mana sports a real-time battle system, your options during battle are much more limited and concise than in, say, most Tales games. That means the focus will often be on the bosses' moves and how to evade and react to them in stylish as well as damaging ways instead of any elaborate combos. You can already see traces of this mindset with the head-on evasion of the intentionally provoked Quakebringer counter at around 1:16. Stuff like that is what I'd be going for with a potential run, so let's see if that happens.
