I present to you, Tropico 5! This is a great development of the series. A common complaint for Tropico 4 was that it was too much like Tropico 3, so this is the answer for those that wanted something different. Luckily they didn't change anything about the game that made the previous ones so great. I recorded this video with no music, because sadly Youtube griefs me anytime I've done that for any Tropico game... so the video is a bit lacking. Just play some Hispanic music in the background and you'll be all set.

The age system is the biggest difference in this iteration of the game, other than perhaps multiplayer, and although it is a valiant effort... it becomes tedious after progressing through it a few times. It works ok for the story mode, but the best part about the age system is that it can essentially be turned off during sandbox games by setting the starting era to Modern Times.

Multiplayer looks good... but I haven't played enough to really get a feel for it yet.

The best change to Tropico 5 is the Dynasty system. Building your dynasty is fun, and finally gives you a reason to have a fat stack of cash in your slush fund.

So all in all, I'm really happy with the game. I sometimes miss the simplicity of the older games, mainly because of the addition of the age system, but the Tropico series is still my favorite city builder, and I expect to play Tropico 5 for many, many more hours to come.
