I have some good news and some bad news.

The good news is that I have an unboxing video of the Limited Edition of Kamiwaza: Way of the Thief, including a look at the stuff inside, which is pretty nice. There's a big furoshiki, a soundtrack CD, some nice art cards, and a pin.

The bad news is that I've played the game for about an hour in between the time I opened it and the time I am writing this description. And unfortunately, I'll have to say that the game is not as cool as it looked. I completed the tutorial mission and the first real mission.

The graphics are probably at around "very good PS2" levels, upscaled to 1080p. The character models are extremely simple. I looked it up as I was writing this, and they're claiming this is a "remaster" of the 2006 PS2 game Kamiwaza, but they haven't improved the character models the way you would expect in a "remaster."
I could forgive that, but the controls are pretty bad, too. There's a tutorial that is insufficient to say the least and the wonky camera makes moving around indoors very confusing. And since you spend much of your time trying to steal things indoors, this is fairly unforgivable.
The music is okay so far.
It's hard to tell how good the story is with only one hour of playtime, but it seems like they're not providing enough detail to make things actually interesting. The story so far has been very simplistic.

So far, it makes me think of a very superficial nonviolent knock-off of Tenchu: Wrath of Heaven (the PS2 one). With that in mind, I hope you enjoy the unboxing but are cautious if you decide to pick this one up.
