This was a fun time messing with some marketplace assets in Unreal Engine 5. Don't be scared off by the low quality and resolution. That is part of the charm. Stay for the moments of clarity the video has and we all have in life. 🥰
There are some neat techniques I end up doing/using/finding out about. Like, making sure your camera exposure settings are set just right so that the reflected lighting matches up with what you see with your eyes. I also check out the debug visualization modes to show what is using nanite and what isn't.
Everything that can use virtual textures is using them. Same with nanite mesh. Lumen is great! This is the best engine when you dive deeply into it.
Computer Specs:
AMD Ryzen 5900x
Nvidia 2070 Super
64gigs of ram
everything for the project is on a 4TB WD Red and the engine itself is on my 1TB NVMe SSD
The video was encoded using RealProducer Plus to a RealVideo 8 format at ~450Kbps at 960x540 due to limitations with the format. The audio was added using YouTube's video editor after the fact so we sadly won't be getting that nostalgic RealAudio sound.
