Very little nightmares gameplay walkthrough in (Android) #VLN
0I'm kinda new to the horror puzzle genre of gaming, my only delve into this genre is playing all three bioshock games made by 2k games, but after having played this game out of curiosity, I can honestly say has made me a fan of the little nightmares saga, if not horrors in general. Thier isn't much to the story other than you play as a child who has randomly awoken in a dark iron vessel settled beneath the sea. (Much like rapture, but without the guns or plasmids) the plot is to escape the vessel for good. Along the way you encounter monsters, I won't spoil it, but the monsters are incredibly detailed in there appearnce and truly shows off the games engine. As you enter each level/section you are given very obvious hints but slowly as to what monster your about to encounter, from blood on the walls, to carcasses, to desheveld disemboweled limbs,to bloody rancind meat slathered on table tops and ceilings etc, you truly get the impression that your in the presence of cannibalis and grim characters. The graphics are insanely good in my opinion, though your interaction with the monsters is very limited, i.e. 90% of the time you are just running and hiding from them, you aren't really given anything to defend yourself against the giant threats. But because of this, within the few moments of finally coming into close vicinity with the monster, you can't help but to momentarily stop, so as to just get a glimpse into the monsters character and everyday proceedings, some times they can be seen cooking, chopping the head off an animal, pacing up and down for a rusty saw, washing up, arguing with another monster etc, those are the very sparce moments you get throughout the game to just sit and chill and sometimes laugh. But these moments also give you opportunity, to time your creeping to successfully get past. The monster gets killed usually at the end of a chase, and sometimes they don't, leading into the next level. This game also in my opinion, is a very atmospheric game, it's not ridiculously scary that your heart will jump out your chest at every level, but it has enough jump scares and overall tone the game succeedingly sets with its use of lighting and shadows with excellent sound to have you treading cautiously throughout. The puzzle elements are very well put together and implemented, thier are no hints, breadcrumb trails, direction cues, nor a magic button you press to make getting to the next section easier, unless it's a button to a banged up creaky elevator you must try and power up. The developers give no clues or hints on where and how to progress, and this is one of the reason why the game is addicting. My only gripes are, your path through out the game is very linear, I guess this is intentional, as the maw is a vessel your trying to escape and not nessecarily spend a lot of extra time in..But in regards to replay ability, thiers not much point for a second play through as thier aren't any collectables either, so unless you download any dlc, your time in the maw is very short
