Hello, ladies and gentlemen. Today I will be showing how to do Video Game Glitch 252: Super Mario Bros 3 (NES) semi-permanent & permanent 1-player mode (in 2 player)!

Here are the steps (semi-permanent 1-player mode):
1. Both player 1 AND player 2 must have ONE "flame card" each.
2. One of the players must have a star card.
3. The other player must get a mushroom card.
4. Enter 2P battle mode.
5. The player who has the star must "steal" the mushroom card.
6. The player who got the mushroom card must lose the battle.
7. Now you can enjoy yourself without having to worry about the other player (until YOU win a battle in 2P battle mode, then the other player gets put back on the map and gets 99 lives in the process).

Here are the steps (permanent 1-player mode):
1. Follow step 1 on how to do the steps to execute semi-permanent mode.
2. This time, one of the players must have a mushroom card.
3. The other player must get a flower card.
4. Follow steps 4-6 on how to do the steps to execute semi-permanent 1-player mode.
5. This time, the player who just got that flower card is OUT of the game for good (as if THAT player's dead). (No, the "dead" player can't continue or move). Even if the active player goes to a different world, the player who had the flame card-mushroom-flower combo is OUT....PERMANENTLY! Even if the active player gets game over, there's no such luck.....the "dead" player's still gone for good.
6. This should satisfy anyone who's looking to betray their partner.
