VR Room "The Matrix" Now Powered by/with Alexa
14Took me a while but I finally got my VR playroom which I call the Matrix to work with my Echo dot using a cheap PC remote, RM Mini 3 IR blaster, and a 2nd gen Echo Dot. I achieved this by using the Alexa app along with Stringify, Wake up on Lan, Tasker, and ihc for the RM mini 3 by Broadlink.

How did I get my PC to turn off and on?
the cheap remote, I programmed it into the RM mini 3 and created a scene in the ihc app where it will pull the shutdown window and select sleep. Also you need Wake up on Lan activated on an ethernet adapter or your wireless card or if its built in to your computer. Usb wifi dongles WILL NOT WORK!
To wake up your PC, you need to set your PCs mac address to Wake up on Lan, and then link it to tasker, and use stringify to create a flow to send yourself a text message so tasker can pick it up and activate the wake up sequence.
For it to be voice activated, that stringify flow you created can be sent to Alexa and be used in a routine.
