Have you ever bought a video game system just to be able to play a few titles? What about a specific variant? Well, I've done both, most recently with the Atari Jaguar. My friend Russ had one as a kid, and I loved playing it back then. I had a chance to get my own, finally, in the Spring of 2023, but I still needed games. Thankfully the system came with 1 of the three I wanted, Cybermorph, but that still left 2 others I needed to add.

The first one I added was in July 2023 at the Southeast Game Exchange. SEGE has always been a great place to find deals on great games, and I figured I'd be able to find one, if not both, of the games I wanted at a reasonable price. Well, I didn't find it, Jay from @SquarePegs for it for me, and that was a boxed copy of Tempest 2000. It doesn't have the controller insert, but it does have the manual. For the price, I was glad to add this to my collection as the soundtrack is absolutely amazing on this game! Not only that but it's also just a fantastic title too. With this, I was 2 down, 1 to go.

The final game I wanted was Alien vs Predator. Russ had it, I played it back in the day and knew I had to have it. I didn't see any for sale at SEGE, but I looked again when I was at the MoGameCon 2023 in St. Louis, MO. I actually found 3 different copies, all of which I was interested in. Pat from @show-meretro had a beautiful CIB copy for sale, and it wasn't just CIB, it was CIB with all 3 of the controller inserts. He was actually priced below another boxed copy that had the game and the manual, but no controller inserts. Then I saw what I would finally purchase.

One table had a LOOSE copy of AvP for sale! He was asking $70, but came down to $55. We haggled back and forth a little and he eventually came down to $50. For me, I was more than happy with this as I am looking at this to play, not to flip. I Can't Believe We Bought Every Atari Jaguar Game We Wanted, along with the system, for under $350 total.

Have you ever gotten all the titles for a system you've wanted? If so, what system and how did you do it? Let me know in the comments!
