We went to the 2024 Éimaischen in Luxembourg city and it was such a lovely day out, even though it was raining really hard, we had an umbrella and had layered up accordingly.

As we approached I heard the first sounds of the little birdy whistles being played by children and stall holders. It was a lovely atmousphere and the sounds of the rain on the market stall rooves just added to the vibe.

At times the rain poured which made people shuffle into the stalls under cover for protection from the rain.

Of course there were food stalls and we had a wurst and a waffle, but I didnt film that part, I will next time.

Every Easter Monday they hold this event in Luxembourg and Nospelt, where the tradition began, where registered hand crafters create unique and beautiful little bird whistles, amongst other collectable items.

Péckvillerchers made of red-brown clay that are made and sold in Nospelt are particularly sought after by collectors. Every year the péckvillchen are stamped with their year and number on the bottom so the collectors amongst the crowd know which ones they have or need.

I myself got a purple péckvillchen (little bird)
