This is a plot explanation, full story playthrough, and a bit of strategic advice for Bloober's 2024 Silent Hill 2 remake. One of the scariest games ever released, and an absolute masterpiece of survival horror. I'm here to explain the plot and give some theories (and take a stance!) on what actually happens in Silent Hill 2.
The Silent Hill 2 remake captured me for a long time after release. As a survival horror fan ever since a friend snuck me RE:Director's Cut in 7th grade, since my parents didn't allow M-rated content like most horror games in the house, I've been AWARE of Silent Hill for my whole life, but fate never meant for me to play the games. Until now.
I didn't game much after high school for a while, and by the time I got a PS4 as an adult, PT had come and gone. So I jumped on Short Message when that came out, and then structured my life around the Silent Hill 2 remake. I struggled for a while with what video to make, then ultimately realized there's some really cool content in the remake if you carefully pay attention to the memos, spraypainted messages, and item placements that I personally would have loved to have explained to me, as a player... so I went and made that video for y'all!
