In the beginning of the new decade, Thorpe Park submitted a medium term development plan, which would go into action from 2012 to 2016.

Part of the plan was two brand new roller coasters to open within three years of each other.

The way you know it, the 2012 coaster, known as The Swarm, opened as the UK's first Wing Coaster, featuring 5 inversions. But the 2015 coaster was never built, and that same island sits empty to this day.

But parallel to your universe, Thorpe Park completely redesigned The Swarm, to feature no inversions and be more airtime focused . . . .
