This game really does do so much to highlight the futility and human cost on both sides of war, going so much farther to illustrate that the grunts on the front lines have no choice but to fight than a lot of other games about war ever bother to even passingly address, and I truly do appreciate that about it. It's easy for me at least to see that even though the game is a survival horror through André's eyes, it's very much the same for everyone else who meets his gaze (save commanding officers), both friend and foe. Honestly probably my personal GOTY, though there's still more to come this year...
