An ex-town employee was accused of running a cryptocurrency mining operation out of Cohasset High School in Massachusetts. Authorities allege that Nadeam Nahas, 39, unlawfully attached the miners to the electrical system at Cohasset High School and was stealing the school's electricity.
The mining setup was discovered in a space under the school by a worker.
An investigation was launched when wires, new ductwork and numerous computers were found in a remote crawl space. Electrical wires and several computers were "found that seemed out of place.
" police said.
Police charged Nahas with fraudulent use of electricity and vandalizing the school.
