Why are Platformer Bosses So Bad?
2,763This is pretty much all stuff I've talked about before. But I figured it might be good to have it all in one place, and not centralized around Sonic lol.
I suppose I should have mentioned the spectacle that boss fights offer. But spectacle can be done in platforming as well. Just think about Mario Odyssey. The final sequence is way cooler than the final fight with Bowser preceding it.
This was originally going to be a larger topic about bosses in games that don't make sense. Stealth games is another genre where I think bosses don't fit. But platformers especially suffer from this problem, so I made it more focused on that.
