Cruella fails to answer the most important questions about the 101 Dalmatians villain, Cruella De Vil. Why is she so evil? What made her break bad? Instead, the film seems to exist merely to sanitize one of Disney's most deplorable villains rather than humanize her. Instead of learning why she's so evil, we're presented with a woman who is mostly good. This is no way to create a villainous backstory.

Yet another big live-action disappointment from Disney.
