The Lego Friends line and minidolls in particular STILL get maligned. And quite frankly, I'm over it. So I'm going to take a little trip, a visual essay if you will, to investigate the history of the advent of the Lego Friends, the background of "girl" Lego and why it is so important that it exists at all. With almost ten years of overwhelming success and a whole generation of new builders it is time to lay the vitriol and negative comments to rest. So join me for a fun rant through the ages!

Hi! If you've just dropped by, I'm Ellie! Stick around and I'll build for you while I review new sets. I tend to geek out about new pieces, interesting building techniques, giggle too much and just generally ramble. I'm easily distracted so I get stuff wrong which I fix up, mostly, but in the end there is always an awesome model ready for play and display.
