Why Playstation Plus Became More Expensive?

So on September 22nd 2016, Playstation Plus increased in value by $10 for the year.

12 Months - $59.99
3 Months - $24.99
1 Month - $9.99

This was the first time Playstation Plus has increased, since the launch in 2010.

One of the reasons why they did this, was to reflect with the current market, and to enable the support for current Playstation Plus members.

Another reason, was to help maintain the system and to provide better updates, better free games etc.

I still believe that Xbox are still doing a better job with the free games aspect, but hopefully Playstation will improve on that soon.

What are your thoughts about the Playstation Plus increase? It's been in effect since September 22nd 2016.
