Guess what while that stat is correct, the truth is playtime on new games went up by 6%, and only 9% of gamers played 2023 games in 2023. And some reasons could cause that bump great games like Black Myth WuKong as well as Kingdom Hearts showing up on Steam could raise the numbers, but it's worthless stat anyways because it doesn't show us the hours or the games. Stick to things like stock prices or a trend of a publisher's games not making headway on Steam as more proof of a problem and not this generic stat Steam puts out just so an individual can compare themselves to what the rest of Steam is doing.
