Here I'm playing the fan PC port of Wipeout which is called Wipeout Phantom Edition. Wipeout Phantom Edition is a widescreen remake where the original was Fullscreen.
The original game was on the PlayStation. I remember seeing this game when it first came out and was amazed at the visuals. Wipeout and Road Rash where the 1st time I've felt hills that felt life like.
Wipeout also was on the Sega Saturn and later on the Nintendo 64 N64.
It's always been a believe to me that Wipeout was inspired by the classic SNES F-Zero game. Super Nintendo was a impressive 16 bit system for Nintendo.
Playstation and Sega Saturn are 32 bit systems and the Nintendo 64 is a 64 bit system. This was a big deal in the bit wars period of gaming.
