iOS 7 is expected to be introduced during the forthcoming World Wide Developers Conference beginning June 10, merely 8 days from now. The new and much improved operating system from the Cupertino based company is set to come with many great features that will give the Apple's mobile operating system an edge over its competitors including Google's Android and Microsoft's Windows Phone 8 besides of course BlackBerry 10.

But the main competition in the market will be between Android and iOS as it has remained in the last three years. After initially being laughed at, Android has come of age with latest updates and is one of the best mobile operating systems, in no way inferior to Apple's iOS.

With the new update of the Apple iOS on the way, people are expecting major improvement in it. The operating system update will give it an edge over other operating systems and will make Apple's iPhones and tablets all the more enticing for people. There are rumors doing the rounds about the sort of changes that the new version will bring and the new features that will come with it. Recognizing this aspect, Apple has taken a good step by engaging its design guru Jonathan Ive to design the software version for the first time. According to many analysts, Ive has a lot of new ideas and concepts for the mobile operating system. Apple might have taken an apt decision by offering the duty to revamp iOS to the prominent designer at Apple.

There are reasons to believe that Apple may change the entire look and feel of iOS to a fresh one, thus making it a stiff rival to Android, Windows Phone and BlackBerry OS 10. Apple must take it a chance to breathe a new life to the operating system to turn it highly competitive in mobile markets. Too many new features are proposed for iOS upgrade this time. Primarily, it will have a new interface, which will make the software look amazing. Regarding new utility features, it is to offer a file management system, NFC, multiple user support, new unlocking features and much more.

There are also reasons to believe that the Cupertino based company may bring back YouTube to the operating system. Also, there will be a new and advanced Apple Maps app, which was a disaster with its last year version. Improved notifications and enhanced security features will further add to the potential of the operating system, which would be debuting on the next major iPhone version, possibly iPhone 5S.
