The Ethereal's actions led to many people losing their loved ones, to the death of the Alien Judge, to economic collapse and fear in the cities.
What the Ethereal likes and dislikes is unknown, but it isn't important - what will be important, though, is seeing how well plasma goes through the Angelis head.

PS: about TFTD - I still search for fitting music to it, and to be really honest, I'm afraid of doing it; not helping matters is that I did get lots of degree-related stuff after I ended my recording of Serious Sam 4 which must be done above everything else (uploading videos and doing degree stuff at the same time is possible though).
But still, I promised you - I will begin recording TFTD in early October even if I don't have a custom soldier thumbnail for it. As for the soldier - if I have to, Ferguson will be in the first episodes as a nod to UFO Defense LP, after them Tina will replace him.
