Xexyz - NES (1988)
2Another title I hear come up a lot or see commonly in lots, but unlike Burai Fighter, I never played this. TheRetroPoolGuy was on a mission to beat it this week, so I heard about this over a dozen times and I felt like that was a sign it needed to be here.
I'm both liking and not liking this. I do love the sound, music, and the multiple game modes but there is something very frustrating about the mechanics and controls. It does take a lot of getting used to and I still don't think I've found my stride. Damage is also a huge issue because there's a lot of things that can hit you and damage can very greatly depending on the enemy. It';s not obvious who's going to do the crazy damage, but one hit and you might find yourself hurting pretty bad.
