161989 marks the start of an era…. An Era filled with Dep Gel and Oshkosh B'gosh overalls. I’m talking Doc Martens, Timberlands and Sketchers ***Fun Fact the Reebok Pump was introduced in 1989, remember those? 1989 also brought us some of the greatest TV shows of all time, like The American Gladiators, an obstacle based show that pits Super Humans against Everyday Plebeians! The Nintendo Game Boy released in 1989 along with the Sega Genesis, this brought on the slow death of the Arcade as consoles & computers would infiltrate the American home while Internet services like America Online would make their way onto the scene and into the hearts of computer lovers nationwide. 1989 would also mark the 2nd year for Yo MTV Raps, which started as an experiment and became a cultural icon. The TV Show Family Matters would also hit the air with the infamous Steve Urkel stealing the show as a Hyper Sensitive Nerd with a pension for love.
