The composer chooses the bright and cheerful key of E major for the Overworld Theme. On top of short chords in the left hand, the right hand plays a tune that could be whistled. The dotted rhythms also add to the upbeat atmosphere.

One can play Overworld Theme on the piano with equally written parts for both hands. The left hand can play the chords and the right hand the melody.
