Here I take the test a bit further and compare some other shields:

1) Radiant Shield (as well as a few other rares) has been reported as being able to surf down lesser slopes, but does it affect speed in Selmie's challenge?

2) Royal Shield is stated by Selmie herself as the best shield for shield-surfing! Will it yield faster times?

3) Hylian Shield. Does its legendary status extend to shield surfing aside from durability?

This test endeavours to put the matter to rest, at least in terms of snowy slopes...

1 mini-game audio track removed owing to copyright so I replaced it with my own rendition of "Slider" from Super Mario 64 which I created with soundfonts (and my own whistle sample) some years ago...

This is an updated version of a video posted earlier but I had to remove a track for. Unfortunately it removed the sound effects as well and I considered it best to upload this fixed version and delete the old one.
